Why guests love itSO/ Maldives leans more design hotel than typical island resort, and it worked for us because the interconnecting family rooms meant the kids had their own space without us being a floor away. Our private pool villa had a proper sea view rather than a garden one, worth the upgrade for the extra square metres of balcony alone. The house reef is a short swim from the beach, and the infinity pool became the default answer whenever anyone in the family got bored of the sand in Emboodhoo Lagoon.
