Why we love it
- The striking and easily accessible house reef
- Proximity to first-rate dive sites
- Private island setting with white sandy beaches
- Cozy overwater and beach villas
Why guests love itEmbudu won us over because you can walk the whole island in under fifteen minutes, which meant our nine-year-old never felt lost and we never worried about him wandering off. The house reef starts a few steps from the beach bungalows, so the dive shop's morning trips filled up fast with people who'd spotted turtles the day before. It's simpler than the five-star resorts nearby, three stars and no spa robes, but for the price the diving alone made it worth the twenty-minute speedboat ride from Velana Airport.
