About this stay

The scale is the first thing that stands out: 120 villas across sixteen hectares of beach, jungle and ocean settings, several with their own plunge pools, so guests are never stacked close together. The island's natural lagoon, among the largest in the country, keeps the water calm right off the property, useful for both the listed snorkelling and diving activities and for families with younger swimmers. Days settle into a rhythm of the 200-metre pool, spa treatments and evenings at the all-bamboo Balinese bar, with family rooms available for those travelling with children and quieter beach or jungle villas for couples wanting more distance from the main areas.

  • Private lagoon setting
  • 200-metre pool
  • Family rooms available
  • On-site spa and diving

Our take

This suits travellers who want space and choice built into one resort: private-pool villas for couples chasing seclusion, family rooms for those travelling with kids, and a lagoon calm enough for snorkelling straight from the property. Divers and spa-focused travellers are equally well served, with both activities listed on site. Anyone hoping for a fast, low-effort transfer should look closer to Malé, since reaching Shaviyani Atoll takes real planning.

  • Ask specifically for a private-pool villa if that category matters to you, not all 120 villas include one.
  • Book your seaplane or domestic-flight transfer as early as the room, northern-atoll routes fill up fast.
  • Use the lagoon side of the island for calmer snorkelling than any open-ocean stretch.

Why we love it

  • 120 villas spread across sixteen hectares
  • Private pools in several villa categories
  • One of the country's largest natural lagoons
  • On-site spa, diving and snorkelling
Why guests love it

We chose a jungle villa with a private pool at Sirru Fen Fushi specifically so our toddler could paddle somewhere contained while we unpacked, and the ground-level layout made that easy in a way an overwater room wouldn't have. The 200-metre pool became our late-afternoon spot once the sun got harsh, and the lagoon stayed calm enough for the older two to snorkel unsupervised close to shore. With 120 villas spread across sixteen hectares, we never once felt like we were sharing space with the rest of the resort.
